KTD K2 – Sintering kiln for cobalt chromium (CoCr), up to 1.350 °C
The KTD K2 is an offshoot of the KTD R2. They share the control technology, as well as most of the technical properties, beyond that however they follow completely different concepts. While the KTD R2 is designed for the sintering of oxide ceramics at high temperatures, the KTD K2 is designed to thermally treat metals at lower temperatures under a protective atmosphere.
By using special firing aids, a kind of muffle is built up inside the
kiln which separates the kiln chamber and the setting space from
each other. In this way, different atmospheres can be generated and
metal alloys can be thermally treated with the exclusion of oxygen.
The sophisticated and innovative conditioning of the rinsing gases
makes the KTD K2 an absolute all-rounder. It is suitable for stress relieving, cleaning, annealing and sintering of pre-sintered metal alloys.
In addition, binder-containing powder metals (soft blanks) can
also be unbound and sintered in one operation. In addition to the
classical temperature-time profile (sinter curve), the quantity of the
rinsing gas (e.g. argon) is also stored for this individual segment
in this sintering kiln. The electronic monitoring and control system
ensures increased process reliability and significantly reduced rinsing gas
KTD P1 – atmospheric sintering kiln for oxide ceramics, up to 1.600 °C
The KTD P1 corresponds roughly to a KTD S1 with additional components. It is operated via an intuitive, graphical, multi-lingual touch screen. Via an Ethernet interface it can be connected to a PC directly or via an existing network. With the supplied monitoring software ”ThermoView“ (free of charge), it is possible to create or save sintering programmes more easily, as well as to automatically record complete sintering processes.
With a heating rate of up to 3000 °C / h over the entire temperature
range, the KTD P1 is one of the fastest sintering kilns on the market
and thus qualifies for so-called ”speed sintering“.
KTD S1 – entry-level model in proven quality, bis 1.550 °C
The KTD S1 is roughly the same as a chamber kiln.
However, it has a very good drawer design in which the front wall and the bottom of the sintering chamber are moved by hand at the
same time. This design allows for comfortable loading from three directions. The entire design and well thought-out arrangement of
the individual components allow for a very compact design. The three heating elements are arranged asymmetrically in order to ensure the best possible temperature distribution over the entire area. The maximum required electrical power is a surprisingly low ≤ 1000 W. Thus, the KTD S1 can easily be operated at any conventional outlet.
KTD M2 – elevator kiln with high capacity, up to 1.600 °C
The KTD M2 is a compact elevator oven in which the bottom plate of the sintering chamber moves up and down. This concept allows the heating of all 6 sides and results in an almost unrivalled temperature homogeneity. The simple and clear loading and unloading takes place via a large opening below the sintering chamber.
Maximum power consumption is ≤ 2500 W. The KTD M2 can
be operated on most conventional sockets due to the electronic flow
control. It is operated via an intuitive, graphical, multi-lingual touch
screen. It can be connected to a PC directly or over an existing
network via an Ethernet interface, and the integrated monitoring
software ”ThermoView“ allows both sintering programmes to be
simply created or saved as well as complete sintering processes to
be automatically logged. In addition, the sintering processes can be
recorded via USB flash-drives.
With its large sintering chamber and the possibility of multi-storey
loading, it is the ideal choice for a larger dental laboratory or milling

The KTD R2 is a compact elevator oven in which the bottom plate of the sintering chamber moves up and down. The simple and clear loading and unloading takes place via a large opening below the sintering chamber. Maximum power consumption is ≤ 2100 W.
The KTD R2 can be operated on most conventional sockets due to the internal electronic flow control. It is operated via an intuitive, graphical, multi-lingual touch screen. Via an Ethernet interface the
KTD R2 can be connected to a PC directly or via an existing network. With the supplied monitoring software ”ThermoView“ (free of charge), it is possible to create or save sintering programmes easily, as well as to automatically record complete sintering processes. In addition to data recording (additionally or alternatively to PC software), a USB interface also allows a higher number of directly available sinter curves with the possibility of importing or exporting them. In this way, backups of the sintering programmes can be created or sintering programmes can be transferred to other kilns (with the same functional scope).
